Trifling away scarce energy resources is taking a huge toll on our lives. The gradual burning out of all natural assets necessitates rethinking the way we live life. Hundreds of alternatives can be considered, yet very few countries and very few individuals consciously adopt energy-saving habits.

I think it's time every nation turned to greener options. Nature has practically all the answers to our woes. Besides solar, wind and bio energy, hydropower, ocean energy, geothermal must be utilised to the fullest.

I think the major emerging productive uses of renewable energy being practiced in agriculture and small industry have been very impressive. Several success stories have emerged in various parts of the world. Solar water pumping is truly a creative use. Biomass fuels are a huge alternative for public transport.

Well, just to add to it, everybody's heard of the solar bus that has been rolled out in Australia. Some firms in the Middle East are equipping public buildings with solar cooling. The airports are also on the agenda.

I couldn't agree more. Germany has come trumps. A video I saw shows it is actually harnessing the power of renewable energy, by integrating biogas,solar and wind energy into its infrastructure.

I completely agree with you on this. One could start with gardening practices.Using a rake rather than electrical equipment is highly advisable.Setting light fittings with varying brightness also helps in lessening the impact on birds and nocturnal animals.
